More Sad News

It was with much sadness that the band learned today of the death of Roy Buxton.

Roy joined the band in 1998 as a learner on trombone.  Up until recently Roy played on 2nd Trombone, where ill health had curtailed his attendance.

Roy also held the office of the band’s chairman for more than 10 years, standing down in 2015.  During his time with the band Roy managed to pursued several of his grandchildren to take up a brass instrument and to come and join him in the band.

The band extend their condolences to Roy’s wife Jean along with the rest of his family and friends during this difficult time.
